Restorative practices are intentional ways of building relationships, strengthening community, and responding to conflict or harm through dialogue, accountability, and repair. They help people consider how their actions affect others and participate in strengthening or restoring relationships.
Restorative practices begin before something goes wrong. They include the ways we listen, communicate, establish shared expectations, create belonging, and build trust in our everyday interactions.
Part One focuses on this proactive foundation: building relationships and community, understanding the impact of trauma, and learning to facilitate connection-building circles.
Responding to conflict and harm through accountability, repair, and reactive restorative processes is the focus of Part Two which is not included in this training.
A restorative circle is a structured, facilitated conversation that creates opportunities for people to speak, listen, reflect, and connect. Circles can be used in workplaces, schools, ministries, organizations, and communities to strengthen relationships and explore shared experiences.
Using a trauma-informed approach considers how people’s experiences may affect trust, comfort, and participation. Facilitators prioritize choice, clear expectations, respectful boundaries, and opportunities to participate without pressure to disclose personal experiences.

I created this experience to share what I know and practice as a restorative practitioner and therapist. Together, we’ll explore how to build stronger relationships, create community, and facilitate circles that give people meaningful opportunities to connect.- De'Nisha "Dinah" Beasley, LMSW, MA
This is the foundational training within my restorative-practices mentorship. I’ll teach you the concepts, explain how I use them, and guide you as you begin putting them into practice.
You’ll experience circles as a participant, practice facilitating with feedback, lead a circle independently, and return to discuss your experience. Our final session gives you space to ask questions, reflect on challenges, and receive mentorship around what you’re learning.
Trauma & Relationships: Understand how trauma can impact communication, trust, connection, emotional responses, and relationships. Learn how a trauma-informed approach can support dignity, choice, connection, respect, and emotional safety.
